Specialist Sales of 'Two Horse' Boxes

Sorry I have been neglecting this web site in favour of my newer more user friendly one : traveltwohorseboxes.co.uk
12/05/2017
However for anyone still using this one , the price of these secondhand horseboxes has been soaring ...all MK111's now seem to be priced in the mid to late teens now !
So why not consider a new build for under £20,000 !
Next in build is on a NISSAN INTERSTAR  (same chassis as the Master and Movano ) LWB  2009 donor vehicle mileage circa 71,000.
These boxes are built with safety in mind both in terms of construction and design .
They are properly re enforced in the critical places , offer large horse dimensions , lots of opening windows and two roof vents making them light, well ventilated and inviting .
The horse area is separated from the groom's area by two full height doors and these coupled with a wide back door and a breast partition that comes apart offers a genuine second exit .
The area between the breast partition or bar  and the doors into the groom's area can be bridged with a detachable piece ensuring there is no way the horse can "get into trouble" !
The ramp is aluminium planked making it very light, there are barn doors above , load guide gates for safety  loading and unloading .
The floor is fibre glass tanked to prevent water penetrating through to the steel base .
The central partition has adjustable widths and an integral bite board .
There are two external tack lockers , viewing window and internal LED  lights.
If you are interested in booking the Movano listed above (build time approx 6 weeks ) please do email or phone on the land line 01994 484223 .
Below are just some photos to remind you of the design , the colour remains the customer's choice !

FIRST THE DOGS!!
Please look at them and consider sponsoring or adopting then you can scroll down for the horseboxes!

Nera has a sponsor! Thank you Sarah. Nera now has a safe place in the shelter until we can find an adopter
This is Nera she is medium sized with a lovely nature, good with people, children and other dogs. She has been overlooked because she is not the most beautiful dog but as we all know beauty is only skin deep,  Nera has a beautiful soul and will make someone a wonderful friend. Currently in a Serbian shelter if I can find her a forever home I will pay the travel expenses and she is fully vaccinated and spayed.

Sarah is helping Nera by being her sponsor (fairy god mother) and Laura is sponsoring Smile who is also looking for a forever home. This photo shows how she got her name!

Now I am appealing for two more kind and compassionate people to come forward and offer sponsorship for these two dogs. Sponsoring is a £15 a month commitment until an adopter can be found. This guarantees "your" dog a safe place in the shelter until a home is found.
Simply called SAD BOY this puppy was in a road traffic accident handed into the Shelter and promptly forgotten. He has a lovely nature and wants to be everyone's friend. He is about eight months old now, very quiet and loving - please someone give him a chance......
This one is Bebili -she was rescued as a street stray . very friendly and adorable as you can see...
photographed with her lovely rescuer Vladanka and her daughter. These are good people living under very difficult circumstances in a country where dogs are still often viewed as vermin - they deserve our support

If you think you can help by becoming a sponsor or adopter please do email me or phone on my land line 01994 484223.

I now have another web site in addition to this one.
It has a more modern design and is more user friendly but the content remains fairly unchanged.
Please go to www.traveltwohorseboxes.co.uk - happy if you want to email me any feed back, positive or negative

I only have limited stock at any one time, this is due to the scarcity of good second hand boxes on the market. You will have seen the adverts "we buy any car" and "we buy any horse" well I don't buy any horsebox! I look at construction and design as priorities and of course the condition. We do minor "ops" to rectify mechanical and design faults, cosmetic refurbishments but I am not interested in horseboxes that need major surgery.

I am always available (evenings, weekends, bank holidays as well as ordinary working hours) to give help and advice whether you are thinking of buying a horsebox from me or from someone else. Suitability and safety for the horses is always my primary concern so you don't have to buy from me if you just want advice.

Racemaster build on a Renault Master LWB 55 plate circa 117,000 miles box built in 2010.
Racemasters are probably the most robust builds on the market but not the most stylish, looking more like a horsebox than a motor home!
They offer large horse dimensions and a sensible, practical design from a coach builder who has over twenty five years experience of building them - indeed some of his early ones dating back to this time are still on the road today.
This one has an external tack locker and internal wardrobe. It has a central partition with telescopic arm that allows herringbone settings and a cover for the window for a horse made nervous by passing traffic.

The bulkhead is re enforced as is the side wall. There are quite a few windows , a roof vent and excellent head height making them a light, airy and inviting box. We have tried to think of every safety feature to cover every horse scenario!
There is a choice of two types of central partition and two single or one single and one double external tack lockers. The spare wheel is fitted in a very sensible location behind the cab seats.
The finished product!

This box has sold - sorry to everyone who has enquired about it.

23/09/2016 WANTED!
More horseboxes of the type I sell - Coach built Renault Masters/Vauxhall Movanos on a LWB.
Will also look at the Citroen/Peugeot/Fiat versions.
Try me for a good price and stress free sale!
I am always interested in buying back or re selling for a customer after all I wouldn't have sold the box in the first place if I hadn't believed it was a good one!
Just recently a customer who bought a nice Marlborough Hunter from me some three years ago didn't tell me she had decided to sell - she actually took £1,000 less from a dealer than I would have given on a buy back price, so it's always worth asking.......

SOLD IN JULY 2016
Vauxhall Movano '08 chassis box built in 2013 by Kents mileage circa 100,000 120bhp 6 speed box.
This box was sold by me as a new build in 2013, it has given the customer good service but now she no longer needs it so I have bought it back.
It has large horse dimensions and a good pay load (just in excess of 1.2ton.) Steel bulk head, cctv monitor to horses, external tack locker, internal open fronted wardrobe.

SOLD IN JUNE 2016
Citroen Relay '06 LWB very low mileage chassis, circa 37,000, box built by Heathrow Horseboxes in 2010. This box is excellent mechanically, needs some internal refurbishment that we are doing but will be offered at two prices as the paint work is tired so £12,750 with existing paintwork £15,000 with a respray.
Good things to say about this box (apart from the exceptional low mileage) are:
Substantial build with padding everywhere, luton that is large enough to sleep on,barn doors above the ramp two really large walk in cupboards so good storage.

SOLD IN MAY 2016
At last another horsebox after all those wasted journeys looking at over priced misdescriptions !
This one is coach built on a 59 plate ('09 registered ) LWB Renault Master chassis circa 125,000 miles with recent cam belt change,  120bhp engine 6 speed box. It is in nice tidy condition (box built last year) and offers a dual purpose camera, an all steel bulk head, a properly re enforced far wall an external tack locker and internal open fronted wardrobe. Also a horse wash down facility with heat controls (solar panel on roof) and a hob plus fire extinguisher for the humans! There are barn doors above the ramp and an extra wide jockey door in the breast partition with weave bars above, properly installed floor drainage and three opening windows and roof vent for light and ventilation.. At present the horse standing is short (6'6" rug max) and the groom's area long!
However as the breast partition is removable this can be altered to give more length , at present I am leaving it like this until I know who is interested
This is a Cat D vehicle (donor vehicle  had  panel damage ) this obviously is academic as the body was removed when the horsebox was built. However as always when I sell Cat D's it will be offered at a competitive price.

SOLD IN MAY2016
Actually should be called Burlington Betty due to her girly colour  but then as she was built for Katie Price the colour should come as no surprise!
The chassis is a LWB '05 Vauxhall Movano 120bhp with 6 speed box and drives really well. There is a tacho fitted so mileage in kilometres which by my calculation is around 105,000 miles.
Burlingtons built  well designed boxes and this one has several nice features including padding above the horses' heads, a very spacious external tack locker ,a full length wardrobe and a luton cupboard.
It is currently having a new cam belt fitted and will be sold with a new MOT, service and usual warranty.

SOLD IN APRIL
Marlborough Hunter built in 2007 on a 2006 LWB Movano chassis circa 36,000 miles.
This horsebox has had only one owner since build and has been meticulously maintained.
All the usual quality associated with the Marlborough name and at the same time offering a functional large horse design.

Chapman horseboxes are sometimes available to order see under new build section of this web site.
The one shown below sold in August 2015 has a couple of new features - a double and a single tack locker, a half partition with rubber skirt and an extra safety feature of a removable "tray" to bridge the tack lockers so no chance of a horse dangling a leg or two over the breast bar!
We listen to our customers and tweak the design to suit.
I also go the extra mile to source genuine, low mileage donor vehicles with service history.
These boxes are holding their value very well  - one has just been sold by a customer, secondhand for more than the cost of a new build!

SOLD IN APRIL 2016
Racemaster on a low mileage '05 LWB Movano chassis.
These are not the most stylish build but I would argue that they are the strongest being steel framed and built by the most experienced Master/Movano coach builder in the business. They are also a very sensible design accommodating large horses in comfort. This one comes complete with jump barrier.
More details and photos to follow.........NB It was raining when I took these so marks on the paint work caused by rain on the camera lens! So many people are asking for more photos I am reluctantly adding another couple but please note these have been taken before valeting!

Citroen Relay '04 chassis box built by Heathrow Horseboxes.

CUSTOMER SALES

This section lists horseboxes for sale which belong to private sellers who want to advertise on this web site in return for a donation to Nowzad Dogs

SOLD.
Fiat Ducato on a 1999 chassis 2.8 diesel engine so plenty of power box built by Racemaster for Kingfisher. Very basic but robust little boxes.  The headroom is 7'6" but as Ducatos' have a shorter wheel base the horse standing is 6'4" so I would say 6'6" rug wearers max or one larger horse as the partition will herringbone and the headroom is good. The groom's area is quite spacious and has seating and saddle racks/hooks. The luton has been made into a cupboard for more storage.  Please note there are NO wheel arches in the horse area allowing horses to stand square and nothing to climb on! This is a part exchange and it will be a budget opportunity priced at £7,500
Will be sold with a new MOT and usual warranty. The cam belt was recently changed (loads of paper work with this box) Mechanically it's superb and  it has been resprayed at some time.

SOLD IN JUNE

Sorry to everyone who enquired on this one - an early bird turned up and caught it!

A MK11 Theault (racing stable box so higher mileage 170,000) .

A late 2001 chassis (these boxes are not built on donor vehicles so will have been a horsebox from birth) 2.8 turbo diesel engine and an absolute joy to drive.

A Theault really does not have to be described by me as they are well known as the "Rolls Royce" of the two horsebox world. This one has a crew cab for the humans and a well padded horse area, two stable doors at the breast, wide door at the rear giving genuine second exit.

It is fitted with hinged weave grills so can be opened and shut as required though I would have thought it a pretty ungrateful horse  that would want to escape from such lovely horse taxi!

It will be sold with a new MOT and service.

A rare opportunity for one of us who is not "filthy rich" to transport our horses in one of these little gems!

SOLD IN JUNE

Renault Master MK11 built by Cuerden Valley in 2005 on a 2003 chassis circa 110,000 miles and pre owned by me. All steel bulkhead, cctv, well padded horse area, good lockers for storage and a luton almost good enough to sleep on. We have given this box an internal refurb so its looking very smart inside and externally the paintwork is also good. Please note that although it has 7'8" headroom the horse standing is shorter than some and so 6'6" rug wearer max. Having said this it is important that the horse length is not too long for your horse - this way lies potential trouble. Firstly the horse needs to balance by resting his hind quarters on the bulk head, secondly if comfortably snug he can not take a swinging kick at that bulk head so you are safer and more comfortable (!) thirdly the horse is less likely to tackle the breast partition as he can not launch himself at it. Horseboxes used by Racing Stables are often on a very short platform for these reasons.

SOLD IN MAY

Renault Master MK11 built by M&D coach builders in 2009 on a 2001 chassis, former airport van hence very low genuine mileage (38,000). This box offers large horse dimensions,(7'10" headroom 7'4" chest to tail) it is well constructed and designed but with the use of some light weight materials I think it should offer a decent pay load (will weigh). It has a roomy external tack locker and internal wardrobe locker with seating in the groom's area, two roof vents and two windows for the horses, a viewing window from the cab.

It has a MOT to April 2014 with no advisories. If you are looking for a low mileage horsebox built to a standard by experienced coach builders then don't miss this one as they don't come along that often.

Vauxhall Movano '04 LWB chassis circa 65,000 miles built by Tru Leisure (who I rate as one of the best ) one owner as a horsebox with no expense spared in terms of maintenance, so it comes with lots of paperwork. This is only the fourth Tru Leisure build I have managed to buy in the nine years I have been running this horsebox business. It is going to be a really good purchase for someone.

SOLD IN MARCH

It has lockers and seating in the groom's area. It will be sold with a new cam belt (only a year to go on it) new MOT ,taxed to the end of June, usual service and warranty.

SOLD IN MARCH

The note below relates to the first "purchaser" it is now sale agreed to someone more sensible.

Marlborough Hunter this one is a late MK11 built on a 53 plate chassis circa 97,000 miles. It has a high spec cab with electric windows and air conditioning. Cam belt change in August 2012 long MOT with no advisories, six months tax. The box which is in a very attractive steel grey is well appointed with three quarter height padded partition, bite board, large horse dimensions.

So many people have emailed/phoned today to ask why this sale fell through I have decided to give a very public explanation!

I didn't realise quite how many people visited my site and just took a general interest in my business.

I bought this horsebox without a log book, the owner having moved house and mislaid it - together we filled in an application for a new log book and along with her cheque for the replacement I took these to a local DVLA office. The customer was informed pre sale of the missing log book but still wanted at that stage to purchase. Two weeks down the line the box was ready for delivery taxed, tested and perfectly legal however at this stage the customer informed me that they had phoned the DVLA and been told turn round time for the issue of a new log book was 3 days and that there was no back log!!! (anyone ever had a log book back in less than three weeks - I certainly haven't?) I did feel as if my integrity was being called into question. The DVLA had warned me that there was a back log and I could expect a 3-6 week wait. However more seriously the customer said they had tried but could not insure a vehicle without a log book - anyone had this experience?!! The customer then suggested I delivered the vehicle to them and they would pay me when the log book arrived. I declined and suggested the option of returning the deposit. However what use a horsebox would be to them if they couldn't insure it was a trifle puzzling.....

For the purposes of clarification the DVLA states clearly that a log book is not proof of ownership. The DVLA also states the return time for new log books to be 3-6 weeks. The best proof of ownership is a properly made out receipt naming the buyer, the registration, make and model of the vehicle and the price received, signed and dated by the seller.I supply such a receipt with every sale. For the purpose of clarification it is entirely possible to insure a vehicle for which you are not the registered keeper. In fact everyone that buys a new vehicle will have a short period of time insured but not actually the registered keeper of that vehicle while the DVLA go through the process of up dating the log book and registering them as the new keeper.

This vehicle has been HPI checked and mileage checked and I am happy to put any prospective purchaser in touch with the previous owner to verify what I have written here. Furthermore (and now you can see I'm off on one of my rants) mine is not a "fly by night" business and I am always available for feed back good or bad post sale so I am unlikely to claim ownership of a horsebox that does not belong to me nor am I likely to claim I have a log book application lodged with the DVLA if this were not true.

Log book applied for 26/2/13 log book arrived 13/4/13 (six weeks four days). Vindicated!

SOLD IN MARCH

Another new build Chapman. This one is on an '08 chassis, circa 90,000 miles see details of these builds in the "new build" section of this web site. These boxes are built on the modern design with a horse area that can be shut off from the groom's area to deter the escapologist and keep your equipment clean! At the same time they can be opened up to offer a genuine second "emergency" exit.

They are extremely light and airy, inviting for the shy loader, offer large horse dimensions a decent pay load . Externally they are a very attractive horsebox.

On these builds, as on the Kent builds, we alter, adjust and modify to our own satisfaction to bring up to a standard we are comfortable with,  both mechanics and box, and  we are also happy to  alter to customer requirements. These boxes carry our usual warranty and are serviced,  taxed and sold with a new MOT (with no advisories) and delivered for the all inclusive price.

SOLD IN MARCH

This is a very robust build with large horse dimensions, plenty of light and air from a number of windows/roof vents. It has storage in a small cupboard in the groom's area seating on both sides , so this is one that could be bridged as a bed for the occasionnal over nighter and an easy one to fit a small hob/sink. The luton has cupboard doors so this offers lots of storage. This is a one off build by a coach builder for a specific customer so quite an individual build.£11,500.

Something really special!

A MK111 Champion build with fitted living, up rated to 3.9 ton gross and incredibly low mileage (just coming up to 17,000) yes seventeen thousand and it drives like a new vehicle.

The donor vehicle was a 2004 demonstration van for Renault which was built as a horsebox in 2006 for its previous owner who has kept it meticulously and only sold to me as emigrating.

It has a luton that can be modified for sleeping, a hob, sink and fridge. Also an extremely spacious external tack locker, a large internal wardrobe, shelving and more storage. There is a cctv in the cab, a horse wash down facility....the list of extras is endless.

When my son inspected this one for me he said "Mum this is the one you should keep for yourself"...I wish....If you have the budget don't miss this one. It could be down rated to 3.5 ton gross but I am keeping it at 3.9 at present for the "pay load" people. Its unladen weight is 2.5 ton.

SOLD IN JANUARY

SOLD IN DECEMBER

Marlborough COLT (yes a COLT not a COB!) Although these are on a MWB they have a longer horse standing area than the Cob and more importantly a steel floor at base (like the Hunter).

It has all the quality of finish associated with the Marlborough name. Built in 2010 on a '04 chassis mileage circa 95,000 miles.

Just a note to explain my take on the MWB model. This one is the best I have seen, having the manufacturer's steel base floor and the wheel arches really well finished in a conical shape, rubber covered, so horses can't hurt themselves, use them to lever themselves up and over the breast partition or stamp on them with such force they buckle inwards and immobilise the box - all scenarios I have come across.

However although this box has good internal dimensions (7'5" headroom 7'2" chest to tail) it must be remembered that the ramp opening is of necessity not as wide as that of a LWB. It is for this reason I reccomend one large horse/one horse one pony/two ponies/small horses for this style of box. i.e. not two large horses as the one on the ramp side stall will be quite squeezed unloading.

I do consider myself able to give impartial advice on Masters/Movanos and other horseboxes as I don't build them myself I can fairly objective about their attributes and defects and as a horse person myself  I am well aware of the issues surrounding the transportation of horses.

SOLD IN DECEMBER

A really lovely little Dereham on a 2002 chassis with the modern 2.5 DTI engine very low mileage @53,000 miles. Lots of lovely features in these builds including a three quarter height fully adjustable partition, plenty of storage in a very well designed groom's area, high breast partition with rolled steel top,two jockey doors into the horses, barn doors with a well designed ramp, detachable bite board  ....to list a few.

This box will be sold with a new cam belt and full service plus usual warranty.

SOLD IN DECEMBER

A MK111 '56 plate (1st reg 19/12/2006)  Renault Master chassis,  body built by Equishuttle in '09, 3.5 ton gross. This box is built to a very high spec and indeed as a new build it was one of the higher priced top of the range builds. It has  all the extras lockers, weave grids etc. It is also very stylish and offers good large horse dimensions. It is a higher mileage box (150,000) and the price reflects this. However it should be noted that 120,000 of these are horsebox miles having belonged to a racing stable and so it has been carefully driven and impeccably maintained.

SOLD IN NOVEMBER

Vauxhall Movano '56 plate in nearly new condition top spec chassis, six speed box, electric windows etc genuine low mileage (circa 64,000) and a genuinely good pay load ( 1.2 ton).

Genuine low mileage (circa 59,000) Mavis started life as a council van and in 2003 was fitted with a new body to start her horsebox duties. She  has always given good reliable service. She offers large horse dimensions, power assisted steering, an external tack locker and internal wardrobe. At present she has two substantial padded partitions which are fully adjustable. She does need a bit of a clean (sorry Mavis) before I can photograph internally so please be patient. As a school mistress she is an ideal starter box or indeed suit anyone who wants a decent coach built Renault Master in the budget range.

SOLD IN SEPTEMBER

Early MK11 Racemaster - as many of you know I am a fan of this build! Strong, functional and basic with good dimensions they are not the most stylish but they are "fit for the purpose" and I see so many builds which don't merit this description! This one has respectably low mileage (72,000)

No internal photos yet as it is undergoing a total refurb. However the design and lay out is identical to the '05 Racemaster listed above.

SOLD IN AUGUST

MK11 Renault Master built by Dereham on a 2001 chassis 2.8 turbo diesel circa 100,000 miles 3.5 ton gross.

These are very well designed little horseboxes both in the groom's area and for the horses, they are built to quite a short horse length so ideal for small horses/ponies although as they are on the LWB model we can lengthen the horse standing to accomodate large horses in comfort. This box is already fitted with everything you and your horse could want. Anti weave grids complete with infills, padding all round, rolled steel breast bar on a partition with two jockey doors,  fully adjustable centre partition, extra windows, roof vents, fans, cctv, several lockers, the list goes on....

P.S.The dog in the photo is twenty years old which is why he looks like a "RSPCA Case" Dingo Ben was seven years old when I adopted him and he had averaged a home a year by the time he came to me. He is my most loyal supporter and likes to be present for photographic sessions.

SOLD TO A POLITE CUSTOMER!!

(I OBTAINED A DIVORCE FROM THE FIRST CUSTOMER ON GROUNDS OF UNREASONABLE BEHAVIOUR)

Renault Master MK1 . This one is another Equipe which were very stylish but well constructed and designed. It is a N reg (1995) genuine 56,000 miles , power steering, lots of service history, pre owned by me. This lovely little box has had a new head gasket, new water pump, head refaced and pressure tested, recon starter motor, new battery, new glo plugs, new cam belt, new MOT., the ramp has been lightened and the central partition re set. Unfortunately I got the one customer who thought three weeks was too long a wait for all this work to be done and certainly did not recognise the value of buying from someone who "goes the extra mile" to ensure that the boxes she supplies are correct, nor for that matter buying from someone who offers to give up her Sunday to deliver because she acknowledges the box has taken a week longer to prepare than originally forecast!!

SOLD IN NOVEMBER

Vauxhall Movano MK11 51 plate built by Pepper Harrow in 2006 (one owner as horsebox) circa 110,000 miles. This is a well kept little box offering good headroom (7'8") but a shorter horse length (6'6") but this could be altered for a customer if required as it is on the correct long wheel base chassis. This box has a decent pay load (unladen weight 2.350) nicely designed central partition and load guide gates, external tack locker, seating in the groom's area. It is sold with a new cam belt and new MOT, road tax, full service, usual warranty .£10,000 .Please note paintwork is good - my photography is not!

SORRY THIS IS ANOTHER ONE  SOLD WITHIN 24 HOURS

Chaigley build on a 2002 chassis circa 86,000 miles, one owner as horsebox this vehicle has been well cared for and properly maintained. It has quite  alot of storage, the luton has been converted into useful cupboard space, and there are lockers, seating and a hob in the groom's area giving room for a little day living without the clutter of all that horsey paraphenalia!  At the same time it has a decent pay load at 1.150 kg. It will be sold with a new cam belt, new test,  years tax, full service and usual warranty.N.B. All marks are shadows - my photographic skills again! Please note I sold this box in May of this year to a very happy customer who has been relocated with her work so has had to sell horse and box.

SORRY to everyone who enquired on this one. It literally sold before I could up load all the photographs!

Now don't miss this one! Renault Master (Highbarn Hawk) built in '08 on a new chassis so only three years old and always been a horsebox. This is going to be offered at a very competitive price.

SOLD IN SEPTEMBER

Vauxhall Movano '06 built by East Riding Horseboxes in '09 to the customer's own spec. As she is a horse transporter (not self drive hire!) it was built and designed with horse safety as the paramount concern. Hence it has a collapsible breast bar with full length doors from the back into the horses. There is then a small tack storage area and a wide exit door. There is cctv so the horses can be monitored at all times. This is a crew cab version so behind the three seats is a space with hob and sink and access to the luton for sleeping on the occasional over night stop.

This is a very unusual design so if this meets some of your "wish list" don't miss it! Although it has relatively high mileage (145,000) it has been meticuously maintained and drives faultlessly. However the price will reflect the mileage so an opportunity for someone to buy a modern well built box at a competitive price.

SOLD in August

- apologies to all who have phoned on this one and tried to make appts to view, but in particular apologies to Sam who was just "pipped to the post" . Sam I promise I will keep looking for you!

Another early MK11 coach built Renault Master, (Theault!) 1999 chassis, 2.8 turbo engine, low mileage(50,000 miles believe to be genuine) barn doors above the ramp, good strong partition between the horses, very basic groom's area, at present just a removable breast bar but can build in partition if required. To be sold with a new cam belt, new test, full service, long tax. This box has a phenomenol pay load at 1.3 ton (2.2 ton unladen) for a 3.5 ton gross box, without any compromise on construction or horse safety issues. In fact these are the strongest builds you can get. Don't miss this one - I don't think you will find another low mileage, high pay load Renault Master build, and certainly not a Theault.

SOLD IN AUGUST

A really smart 56 plate Vauxhall Movano  new build, one owner circa 120,000 miles( previously a canon hygiene vehicle so well serviced and maintained) A new cam belt will be fitted and new MOT test undertaken  before sale. Mark 11 Racemaster, this is a T reg (1999) chassis built in 2004, circa 130,000  miles, only one owner as a horsebox and one previous so full history known, a very smart well maintained box, with the very strong functional construction and design associated with this coach builder. These early MK11's seem to be in quite short supply - so be quick on this one!The paintwork is good (better than the photos!)

SOLD IN JUNE (again this one was spoken for within hours of its arrival here apologies to all who have expressed an interest in it)

And just to prove Theaults are not exclusively for the super rich I have one that will be offered at a moderate price!

This one is a 55 plate MK111 with higher mileage (circa 168,000)  120bph engine trip tronic gearbox (at least I think this is what they are called!) meaning it can be driven manually or in automatic mode One owner only and meticuously maintained. This is a crew cab version with drop down bunks for sleep overs and greater passenger capacity in the cab . And for the horses there is air ride suspension and such a nice interior they should hopefully want to stay there and not try out the well designed second exit which is such a feature of these builds!

Sorry Sold within hours!

Another MK1 coach built Renault Master by Racemaster, with power steering and large horse dimensions. This is another "budget opportunity". M reg 83,000 miles, rare MK1 turbo engine so really good pulling power, this box has been pre owned by me and has now come back in part exchange. MK111 Renault Master '53 plate '04 registered 120bhp 6 speed box circa 80,000 miles. This is a bespoke build and a very nice one indeed. It will appeal to someone who wants a little more day living than usual, sink, hob, seating on both sides which gives the opportunity to bridge for a bed. But it is the horse area that I really like, lots of windows for light and ventilation, roof fan, lots of padding, anti weave grills, two partitions, reversing camera, cctv - this is the box with everything.

SOLD IN MAY (sorry this was a straight in then out horsebox!)

Another MK1 Renault Master. This is one built for me by M&D in 2006 on a N reg chassis. A really nice light airy box with very large horse dimensions. A well designed groom's area with small sink and hob, seating, wardrobe locker and external tack locker.£7,750.

The last of the Champions!

This is an unusual one, a new build on a MK11 T reg (1999) chassis 2.8 turbo engine 90,000 miles on the clock but has a replacement engine with 36,000 miles (last engine cam belt broke!) and many new parts. This vehicle has been off the road for 6 years of its life  and used by the coach builder to demonstrate how his boxes were built. (Metal frame aluminium clad). This coach builder has now retired from horseboxes and so finally fitted the new engine, new clutch, new exhaust, new brake parts, new battery, completed this box and sold to me! I will put a new MOT on it and have taxed it to end September.£12,500

It has granulistic flooring, three windows to horse area, large horse dimensions, lockers and storage in the groom's area and I am told a payload of 1.2 ton (which I will check!)

Racemaster MK111 '04 chassis '09 build exceptionally low mileage.

Budget opportunity. Renault Master MK1 J reg (circa 118,000 miles) built by Paul Fabrications in 2001. Large horse dimensions (7'6" headroom 7'4" chest to tail) strong steel hooped build, pre owned by me and coming back as a part exchange. Not the nicest box to look at as its first owner should "have gone to spec savers" (lots of dents and scratches) but for the last two years has been a starter box for a more able driver who has had alot of reliable use from it. In fairness both horsebox owners have kept it well maintained - lots of invoices. We will give it the usual service and "once over" and sell with warranty. This will suit someone on a tight budget who wants safe  reliable transport for their horse.

Another MK1 Renault Master. This one is a M reg built by Staffordshire Horseboxes. It has power steering circa 77,000 miles, one caring horsebox owner, but the really unusual feature is the turbo engine (rare in the MK1 and gives superior pulling power).
